For years Kollel Mishkan Yechiel has run quietly in Sanhedria HaMurchevet, under Rabbi Chayim Tzvi Blau. Twenty men learn there every day. They are not a famous institution and they have never run a campaign. The monthly stipend they receive is small, and for most of these families it is what covers rent and food.
The support that paid for it came from one source, and it stopped. Not reduced over time, and not after a warning — it simply ended, and the kollel was left with nothing coming in.
Without the stipend most of these men cannot keep learning. They will have to leave and find work, and a kollel that took years to build closes in a few weeks.
$40,000 carries the kollel through Pesach. That buys the time to find proper support for next year rather than closing while that search is still going on.
Any amount helps. A full month for the whole kollel is $5,000, and one yungerman for a month is $500.
